Hi, I have put together a simulation using power point, what I need to do is to have a set sequence start on one slide by hitting an action button on a different slid. I can start the sequence if I hit the action button on the slid that the sequence is on, but I can not seem to do the same across slides.
Q; can action buttons be linked across slides? if so how?
Why start a sequence on slide one from another slide? You are as you say on another slide.
In order to see the results of the sequence you would have to go back to the first slide in which case PowerPoint would load the slide from scratch and perform all the actions on the slide.
Are you trying to display some sort of results on a hidden slide?
Why not simply hyperlink to a hidden slide in your presentation?`
Basically you're only ever going to achieve limited interactivity Andrew with PowerPoint. A sort of Yes / No button scenario to link to slide x or slide y etc.,
Maybe you need to explain more what you're doing and how this "simulation" works?
Hi, thanks all for you help. May I apologise for the delay in replying, (was off on hol’s)
The thing is I have created a simulation which simulates the start up of a power plant. During the start up a number of things happen simultaneously, but theses event are not on the same screen (in-touch PLC/DCS screens). I have requested before if anybody knew if such a programme where as I could display two or more screens at once for the same presentation. I did not receive any confirmation of this so I assume there were not available. So now once I initiate a command (action button) on one screen I need a number of events to start on other screens. So when I go to other screen I need theses event to have already started.
The only solution to your problem today would be to consider Adobe Flash for creating your presentation which would enable you to pass commands and controls between 2 seperate flash movie presentations which can be playing at the same time.
