I think I might be stupid but does anyone know how to just insert a sound clip into a PowerPoint slide?

I don't seem to be getting anywhere, and I thought this stuff was supposed to be easy.

Trippy,

I'm no expert but i usually just do this:

Click the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds and select Sound From File...
Navigate to the sound you want to use.
Click OK.
Click Yes if you want the sound (or music) to play automatically through the presentation, or No if you want it to start when you click the music icon on the dialog box that appears.
Drag the music icon to where it is convenient (or off the screen if you are having the sound playing automatically.
Test the sound by running your presentation using View Show from the Slide Show menu option.
If you selected the option to have the music play when you click the icon, click the sound icon you dragged in step 5.

Hey admin, thanks for the PM.

I'll have a think about it and drop you a line next week. Right now, I gotta figure out how to organize my boss' slide show for Monday. Too much information. Too many figures. Not enough graphs or layout. A real mess.
