Is there any way to fade out sound on a slide? I am using background music across 11 slides and when it goes to slide 12, I want the music to fade instead of ending abruptly. Is this possible?

Hi leslie,

thanks for your question, and welcome to the PowerPoint Forum Smile

Sadly PowerPoint doesn't provide any way to fade music, or indeed alter volumes or other MMC (multimedia controls) so theres no way to "control" the sound, other than the "loops" that enable repeating. You've probably also noticed that when you try to loop sounds that PowerPoint can't even do that effectively and creates irritating delays between the end and start of loops.

The good news is that our software developers have created an application called the http://www.123ppt.com/music-soundfx-studio/ - 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio which creates new functionality in PowerPoint to not just allow you to control fades in PowerPoint but to provide you with complete control of sound in PowerPoint.

To give you just an overview of some of the application's functionality:
  • Create playlists in PowerPoint for your presentation music.
  • Loop your playlists without any delays between playlists or play your playlists as they are or shuffle tracks dynaically inside your playlists.
  • Control volume precisely with complete sound controls and sliders.
  • Fade music in or fade music out and control the duration and volume of fades.
  • Crossfade between any tracks in your playlists.
  • Pan music from left to right or from right to left.
  • Loop individual music tracks seamlessly with no pauses or irritating delays.
  • Play multiple channels of sound, for example, play sound effects over your presentation music.
  • Record voice overs and vocals inside PowerPoint and add narration to Slide Transitions and Custom Animations and narrate your PowerPoint presentations.
  • Synchronize sound effects with slide transitions and Custom Animations.

As you can see leslie, the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio is the complete application for adding and controlling sound in your PowerPoint presentations.

A free 14 day trial version of the application is available to download and tryout for free from: http://www.123ppt.com/music-soundfx-studio/download.asp - http://www.123ppt.com/music-soundfx-studio/download.asp
