I've been trying to play and loop music siccessfully in PowerPoint for years without succecss. It seems when you use PowerPoint's own built in loop function it does loop sound but there is a second or two delay before the loop starting again. This irritating pause and delay is really off putting for audiences so I've been creating music using GoldWave and creating loops stitched together for a defined period of time.

The timing and precision required to make sure everything plays exactly has been almost impossible to control or guarantee.

I see the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio is able to create and play perfect loops without any delays in PowerPoint. How can you acheive this?

Thanks

Hi sjanse and welcome to the 123PPT Community!

PowerPoint does provide a loop function for music you insert using the Insert > Sound menu option.

But as you probably are only too aware sjanse, PowerPoint's weakest aspect is sound and the handling of audio. Especially because of the very limited functionality for using sound in PowerPoint.

When you insert a sound or music loop into PowerPoint using the Insert > Sound menu option PowerPoint asks you if you want the sound to play automatically or when clicked and then proceeds to display a sound icon on your PowerPoint slide.

You can then opt to play the sound throughout your presentation by checking the Loop Until Stopped option.

The problem with using this loop option or even the Play Across Slides option in PowerPoint is that the sound will play until another sound is needed and then your looped sound will stop. If you think that in addition to this PowerPoint is unable to play perfect seamless loops without a small delay also between the start of the loop and the end of the loop then you have pretty poor sound control.

The 123PPT Music & Sound FX Studio Trial Edition is a free to try, free to download 14 day trial version of our software which does not rely upon the limited sound functionality of PowerPoint. Instead. It creates a whole new range of functionality that gives you unparalleled control over music in your PowerPoint presentations.

You can for example:
  • Control the volume of each individual piece of sound in your presentation. From 0% and Mute to 100% and Full Volume.
  • Fade music in.
  • Fade music out.
  • Crossfade music tracks over each other for smooth transitions.
  • Pan music from left to right or right to left.
  • Even narrate your PowerPoint presentations in real-time and record your vocals and voice overs from inside PowerPoint.

In addition to these audio effects the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio allows you to seamless loop your presentation music inside PowerPoint and when we say seamlessly we mean seamlessly. No delays. No pauses. No irritating stops. Just seamless playing from the end of the loop to the start of the loop for as many loops as you want and as many loops as you define.

With the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio, you are able to do this because the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio does not rely on Microsoft PowerPoint functionality. It creates new functionality , new tools and new features which allow you to precisely control your presentation music and PowerPoint sound.

So in order to have my presentation music play and loop seamlessly in PowerPoint I would need to use the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio. There's no way I can create seamless music in PowerPoint without the delays between the loops?

That's right sjanse.

PowerPoint will allow you to loop your music and it will allow you to play music across your slides. But when playing a loop using PowerPoint's own Insert > Sound functionality you will always get a small but irritating delay between the start and the end of your loop so it's not "seamless" it's actually the opposite. If you use the Insert > Sound function of PowerPoint to attempt to insert your presentation music and loop it. Your audience will become instantly aware of your loop because they will always hear how it starts and how it ends from the delay in between the loop playing.

If you use the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio to insert your presentation music into your PowerPoint presentations. Not only can you create playlists, fade music in and out etc., but when you choose to loop a piece of presentation music. As long as the loop is itself a seamless loop then it will play seamlessly in the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio with no delays or irritating pauses. Your audience will never hear the start or end of the loop and you can create the effect you need in your PowerPoint presentations.
