    Posted: 21 Feb 2011 at 11:13
My colleague has sent me a PowerPoint presentation with video backgrounds that I need to review and approve for a meeting tomorrow.

I have installed the 123PPT Presentations Player but when I open my colleagues presentation I receive an error message saying Error 3.

What's wrong?

Hi Jennifer and welcome to the 123PPT Community.

When you download and install the 123PPT Presentations Player the installation package installs several components. One of these components is the Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer.

The Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer is required by the 123PPT Presentations Player to display your slide content and is requried by the 123PPT Presentations Player to run and function correctly.

When running the Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer for the first time Microsoft displays a license agreement which you must accept in order to use the Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer on your machine. If you ignore this license request or choose not to accept it then Microsoft does not allow the application to run.

Since the 123PPT Presentations Player relies on functionality within the Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer in order to display your slide content when access to the Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer is blocked and the 123PPT Presentations Player is unable to communicate with it an error is generated. This error is 'Error 3'.

Depending on the version of your operating system Jennifer, you will access the Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer license agreement in different ways. Please refer to the previous community thread,
'Error 3' message when trying to play presentation with video backgrounds
which provides more information on accessing the Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer license agreement under differing versions of Microsoft Windows.

Once you have accepted the license agreement Jennifer, the 123PPT Presentations Player will be able to communicate with the Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer and your colleagues PowerPoint presentation with video backgrounds will play as it does on his machine.

Hope this helps.

Yes you were quite right admin. I had overlooked the license agreement.

I have accepted the license and the 123PPT Presentations Player opens and now plays the presentation with video backgrounds perfectly.

Thank you so very much.

Best regards,
Jennifer
