Can someone please help with the following setup in Powerpoint setup? I have done points 1, 2 & 4, and am stuck with point 3. Thanks!

1. Set up date and department name on the cover sheet.
2. Set up date and department name on the continuous page as a footer which will synchronize with the date typed on the cover sheet 
3. Date and department name on the continuous page will be updated automatically when the info are changed on the cover sheet.
4. Page number are set as a footer and it will automatically flow sequentially.

Hi vso,
welcome to the PowerPoint Forum.

You need to insert the Date object holder into the Slide Master of the PowerPoint Template if you want the date to update automatically whenever you open the presentation with the current date.

With regards to the department name, I'm not entirely sure what you mean. If you mean that each time the presentation is opened that it should recognise a specific user and update the title of the department with the department name the user belongs to?

If this is the case, it would require some database integration and I'm not sure if you would be able to connect this with the User Profiles of Windows so you would probably need to createa hidden Slide Master where the presentation holder can enter the name of the department and then when they run the presentation the Slide Master is linked to the hidden Slide Master and gets the value from the hidden Slide Master field.

If you provide a bit more detail on what you are trying to achieve we can help you further.
