Guys. Amazing product. Truly ground breaking. That's why I bought the Deluxe Edition license. Love it!

One problem I get is trying to import YouTube movies. I keep receiving an "Error converting YouTube to 123PPT Video Background" message whenever the download is completed from YouTube. Do you know why?

Cheers, JamesC

Hi James. Welcome to the 123PPT Community!

When you download and install the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio for PowerPoint the installation program checks for several components and requirements from your machine. If your machine is missing components in addition to our application these components are installed along with our application.

One component is the K-Lite Codec Pack.

YouTube play videos using the Adove Flash Video (FLV) file format. While in your browser you can watch these if you have the Adobe Flash Player installed. Your PC cannot play FLV files by default or using Windows Media Player because the file format is a proprietary format not a native PC format.

In order for your PC to play FLV files through for example Windows Media Player and other media players outside of the Adobe Flash Player your machine requires video codecs to allow translation of the video so that it can be displayed and played.

The 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio installs the K-Lite Codec Pack on your machine if you do not already have this installed so that when you open PowerPoint and use the YouTube import functionality of the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio. It is able to download the YouTube movie and convert this to a format that will play in your PowerPoint presentations as a video background.

Without the K Lite Codec Pack, the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio is unable to successfully convert your YouTube movie to a format that can be used and so terminates and informs you that there is an error.

If you open your Windows Control Panel James and look at your installed programs you will see if the K-Lite Codec Pack is installed or not. If not please download and install it.  There are many links to the K Lite Codec Pack online.

Once downloaded and installed, open PowerPoint and use the YouTube functionality once more in the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio and you will be able to successfully download and use YouTube movies as video backgrounds in your PowerPoint presentations.

Hi Laura and welcome to the 123PPT Community!

I believe one of my colleagues informed you yesterday that due to the algorithm changes at YouTube we released a new update for the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio v.3.0.

The new update is the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio v.3.05 which you were informed you need to download and install if you wish to use the YouTube function.

I just checked our servers and can see that you haven't downloaded the 3.05 update yet.

Please download and install the 123PT Video Backgrounds Studio v.3.05 update which will correct the problem and allow you to download YouTube movies as video backgrounds in your Deluxe Edition license. Smile
