Hi there guys,
good looking product and really impressive looking results. I was just wondering. Is it possible to insert or embed a YouTube movie in PowerPoint without using an add-in?

Hey Stephen,
welcome to the PowerPoint Forum and 123PPT Community.

YouTube movies play in an Adobe Flash Player and are often in the file format .FLV which stands for Adobe Flash Video.

Users can upload movies in a variety of formats such as:
  • Windows Media Video (.WMV)
  • 3GP (mobiltelefoner)
  • AVI (windows)
  • MOV (mac)
  • MP4 (ipod/psp)
  • MPEG
  • FLV (adobe flash)
  • MKV (h.264)
However, play back on YouTube through the YouTube player plays the file in .FLV which is a non standard video format for PC users and computers.

Adobe Flash Video files require a third-party player in order to convert the video and audio stream and play this on a computer.

Adobe provide the Adobe Flash Player and there are many proprietary players on the market which allow you to play back YouTube movies in standalone players. But, PowerPoint itself is not a video player or offers support for YouTube movies as they are.

There are several YouTube conversion programs on the market for PowerPoint but these simply convert the video file into another video file format that is compatible with Windows, such as .WMV, .MPG or .AVI.

What is different about the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio is that the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio is that in addition to being the only application that allows you to insert and play video backgrounds in PowerPoint. The 123PPT Vdieo Backgrounds Studio allows you to connect directly to YouTube from inside PowerPoint and select the movie that you would like to download and use in your presentation.

The YouTube functionality of the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio allows you to select from any and all available resolutions of any YouTube movie. From the lowest resolutions to the highest High-Definition (HD) versions.

The 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio then downloads the YouTube movie and makes it available to you to use as a video background in any of your presentation slides and presentations.

In the latest version of the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio, there is now an additional function that allows you to download YouTube movies with their complete soundtrack so that in addition to playing any YouTube movie as a video background, you can also play any YouTube movie in full screen as a film on any PowerPoint slide without needing to open any third-party player or other application. With the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio, your YouTube movies can play directly on your slides.
