    Posted: 05 May 2011 at 04:43
I have downloaded some of your free video backgrounds for PowerPoint to see if using video backgrounds in PowerPoint is a way to make my presentations more professional and interesting.

After I inserted the video backgrounds in PowerPoint the problem is that the video backgrounds are not backgrounds but are playing in front of the text on my slides. Am I missing something? Can anyone help me with this? I really need to solve this today because I have an important presentation tomorrow.

Thanks for any help.
Eric.

Hi Eric!

Welcome to the 123PPT Community and PowerPoint Forums.

PowerPoint itself cannot play video backgrounds behind text or slide content in PowerPoint. In order to play video files, movies, video clips or video backgrounds as backgrounds in PowerPoint you need the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio.

The 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio is the only application that allows you to insert, control and play video backgrounds in PowerPoint presentations.

If you use PowerPoint's built-in Insert function to insert a video file in PowerPoint then PowerPoint automatically inserts the video file infront of your slide content. This is because PowerPoint itself doesn't actually play video files or insert them for that matter. If you use the Insert function in the PowerPoint menu, PowerPoint simply creates a link to the video file and plays it back using the MCI control.

The 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio extends the functionality of PowerPoint by providing you with new tools, functions and features that let you insert, control and play video backgrounds in PowerPoint presentations.

You can download a Free Trial version of the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio and experience the power of using video backgrounds in PowerPoint and start creating stunning PowerPoint presentations with video backgrounds right away.

Thanks admin. I've downloaded and tried the trial version. It's extremely cool to see what I can do with my presentations using your product but I miss the ability to be able to import and use my own videos. Is there anyway I can try my own video backgrounds using the trial version of the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio?

The free 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio Trial Edition is bundled with 10 free video backgrounds. 5 in standard (4x3) and 5 in widescreen (16x9) aspect ratio formats so that you can use the video backgrounds most suitable for your display monitor and screen.

In addition there is a control called Maintain Aspect Ratio when you insert or edit a slide video background and unchecking this control allows the video background to dynamically scale to completely fill the screen.

Because the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio Trial Edition is a free evaluation version of our program, there are 2 limitations to using it.
  1. The watermark 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio Trial Edition appears over all video backgrounds during play back of presentations created using the free Trial Edition.
  2. You are restricted to being able to use the free video backgrounds included with the Trial Edition and may not import additional video files. movies, YouTube videos or other video backgrounds for use as video backgrounds in your presentation.

Naturally both of these limitations are removed once you license and register your application Eric, but in Trial Edition Mode you are not able to import your own video files for use as video backgrounds as the on screen prompts inform you when attempting to use any of the import functionality of the free Trial Edition.
