Hello PowerPoint presenters!

I am hoping someone can point in the right direction. I have been trying to import a YouTube movie into my PowerPoint presentation but I don't know how to download it and how to insert it onto the slide.

I see the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio has a YouTube option. Does anyone have any experience with using the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio for importing YouTube movies into PowerPoint? Is the quality of the imported video good? Is there no option on YouTube for saving a movie to my hard drive so that I can import it myself using the Insert Movie option in PowerPoint?

Thank you for any response and help.

Jayne

I am using the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio Lite Edition Jayne which allowed me to import 3 of my own videos for a presentation I was doing recently.

The Lite Edition and the Deluxe Edition both allow you to import YouTube movies and use these as full screen video backgrounds in your PowerPoint presentations.

I was really impressed with the functionality because it is so simply but really really intelligent. The import YouTube to PowerPoint functionality of the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio lets you select from all the available resolutions of the YouTube movie that you're trying to import and download the resolution that best fits your presentation. You do all this inside PowerPoint and once the YouTube movie is downloaded it's available in your video backgrounds library so its just to insert it onto any slide in any presentation you like.

I'm running my presentations in full HD (1900 x1080) screen resolution, so it's just brilliant that I was able to download a full HD movie that I needed to add to my presentation.

Are there no other alternatives to using the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio Galliano? Can PowerPoint not download and insert YouTube movies on its own?

No Jayne. There's really no alternative. I've tried a free trial versions of products which let you import a YouTube movie to PowerPoint but that's all they do and the cheapest one I found was almost double the price of the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio Lite Edition.

For me it's the fact that with the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio you can import and use any video or movie file as a video background not just YouTube.

The other applications I've seen let you import a YouTube movie into PowerPoint but nothing more. The 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio lets you control the speed of playback, adjust colors and transparency and even change the aspect ratio so it completely fills the screen without distoring any slide content which is a really cool feature.

Basically Jayne, if you want to import a YouTube movie into PowerPoint then the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio is the only option worth looking at.

Thank you Galliano, I have a feeling you just saved me hours of frustration and online searching.

Have you any experience with the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio?

I see if I purchase the 123PPT Multimedia Studio Lite Edition it effectively means I save $20 on purchasing a Lite Edition license of the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio and a Lite Edition license of the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio.

Is it worth purchasing the 123PPT Multimedia Studio license?

I haven't heard of the 123PPT Multimedia Studio for PowerPoint so I'm guessing this is new.  It looks like basically they're just bundling both the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio and the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio together and giving discounts to make it cheaper to get both applications.

I tried the trial edition of the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio but I didn't have a need for it Jayne, because I don't post my presentations online or share them with friends or colleagues. The presentations I create are those that I give to audiences and I don't need music or sound in them because generally I stand their presenting and talking. But I can definetly see the benefit in the product if you are making self-running presentations or presentations that you want to share and distribute.

Either way seems $79.99 for both products is a steal Jayne and well worth the extra 30 bucks on purchasing the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio on it's own. And well worth saving 20 bucks if you think you might need music or sound in one of your presentations now or in the near future.

FORUM UPDATE

The new 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio v.3.5 now allows you to import any YouTube movie, YouTube video, or YouTube clip at any available resolution, including full broadcast quality High-Definition (HD) with soundtracks.

The new 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio v.3.5 lets you import any YouTube movie and import it with or without sound so that you can play the clip either as a "film" in PowerPoint or use the clip as a video background in your PowerPoint presentations.
