Hi motorhead and welcome to the 123PPT Community. Nice to have you here with us. Lets see if we can help you.

Are you trying to embed a video behind your content in PowerPoint? Trying to play a video behind the content on your slide? Or are you trying to simply embed a video file to play on your slide?

To be totally honest admin. Both...if I can?

On one slide I would like to embed a video background to play behind some text on a slide in PowerPoint. On another slide I would like to just have a video clip playing on the slide.

To embed a video background in PowerPoint and have the video background play behind your slide content, slide text and slide images you would need to use the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio.

The 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio is the only application that provides you with the ability to embed and play video backgrounds in PowerPoint.

We offer a free 14-day trial version of the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio for you to try and experience the power of using and embedding video backgrounds in PowerPoint.

To embed a video in PowerPoint to play infront of your slide text and content, simply select Insert > Movie > Movie From File... from the  PowerPoint main menu.

Unfortunately motorhead, PowerPoint cannot embed a video to play in PowerPoint. It will always link to the video file so you would need to include the video file with any email or on any other portable media if you were thinking of distributing your presentation.

That said, we do have presenters who use the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio to embed videos in their PowerPoint presentations. Because the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio lets you insert and embed the video as a background behind your PowerPoint content. An alternative way of using the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio is to remove your slide content from the slide where you want to embed your video. When you play your presentation back your embedded video plays as an embedded video even though it is infact embedded as a video background. So this is an alternative to linking to a video file when embedding a video to play in PowerPoint.
