If you simply "embed" a video from YouTube then you haven't actually inserted into your presentation you simply link to it. This means that when you play back your presentation your computer must be connected to the internet in order to play the video in the presentation. In addition, YouTube has to be running and the video has to be live and not removed. So in total, you have no control at all over an embed code and embedded YouTube or other video such as Vimeo etc.

The 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio Deluxe Edition allows you to import the video so that it is saved to your machine locally and can be inserted into your presented as a "local" file, meaning you don't need an internet connection to play back the video in your presentation and you don't need to worry about video being deleted or removed from YouTube or links.

Sorry for a dumb question, but what's the difference between videos with embed code and without it?

Hey cote_bruce,

welcome to the PowerPoint Forum.

You cannot import or embed YouTube videos in PowerPoint without Embed code unless you use the 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio.

The 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio is the only application that allows you to not only import and embed YouTube movies in PowerPoint but also allow you to play them even when you are not connected to the Internet!

It does this by extending the functionality of PowerPoint and creating new controls and functions to improve and enhance your PowerPoint presentations.

Hope this helps.
