windows 7 64 bit, ms office v 2007 32 bit. Downloads and unzips. Click setup.exe, Opens a dialog and tries to install 2 programs by itself goes from PENDING to INSTALLING then stops and says the configuration files are missing. Have tried this 7 times now I believe.
File was downloaded from this site.  Downloaded a three or four other programs for different products in the last two days and all installed no problem. Also disconnected from the internet and disabled all virus and firewall. Still, same problem.

Has anyone else had this problem and got it fixed? I think I could really use this product but it doesn't look like I am going to be able to install it, so Thanks for any help!

Hi krazybear,

welcome to the 123PPT Community and PowerPoint Forum.

Ok, first up, If you have downloaded the setup.exe and it opens and the wizard commences then none of the components are missing. Your downloaded file is correct.

When you open the setup.exe file it begins by installing several components and daughter applications. The first two daughter applications are the
  • 123PPT Presentations Player
  • 123PPT Play & Share

But actually, 2 other components are also installed in addition in the background prior to this.

From your post and explanation about configuration files missing, it's no question and no doubt that it is your antivirus software, spyware software or other security settings that are blocking the installation of your software components.

If any component was missing then your download would not open and the setup.exe file would be corrupt and the wizard would not start so it's definetly your security settings which block a component from installing and then the next step of the installer fails as it unable to find the previous component configuration files.

Try disabling your antivirus and spyware software completely during setup. Your antivirus of spyware software is interpreting the installation components as unwarranted installation files.

I know you write that you have disabled all virus and firewall krazybear, but I'm afraid something is still running that is blocking installation so either your antivirus engine is still active in the background processes or you have a spyware or other security application running as well which is creating another level of security.

The 123PPT Video Backgrounds Studio and the 123PPT Music & SoundFX Studio both run without difficulty on Windows 7 64-bit, Ms Office v2007 32-bit. (I am actually running the same configuration myself)

The reason your software will not install is due to security settings on your machine blocking components. That is why the installation wizard then returns the error of configuration files being missing. Because your antivirus or spyware software is preventing these from being installed before the main software.
