I have for some time embedded Windows Media (Video) Files in PowerPoint 2003,. No problems. However, with Vista Business, PowerPoint 2007 on a Gateway 155 Tablet, the video files playback with a green hue. Playing the same video outside of PowerPoint as a Windows Media File play just fine. All drivers are up to date. What's up?

Hi Jim.,
PowerPoint doesn't use Windows Media Player to play back video files. It uses the MCI Player.
I would recommend reading PowerPoint won't play video like Media Player.
From what I am reading from your post Jim, either you will experience the same problems with MCI Player in which case the codec being used on your new system to "interpret" the video files differs from the one on your previous system installation and so a green appears stronger.
Or the video files play fine in MCI Player,in which case it is most definetly a display card driver problem. That being whilst the video is playing fine in Windows Media Player, the overlay feature of the driver which is called through PowerPoint runs but there is a colour callibration error (the green hue). Vista Business is fairly new on the market Jim, and new graphic drivers and driver updates are being released all the time. If the video file is playing perfectly in MCI Player, my adivce is to right click the desktop and determine the graphics card that you have and then post a thread upon the manufacturers website as it is most definetly a graphic driver problem, rather than a PowerPoint issue.
The problem is that you are experiencing the issue through PowerPoint but PowerPoint itself is not the problem.
Fingers crossed though Jim that there is the green hue when running the video through MCI Player, in which case it is purely a codec issue and you can update the codecs on your machine from many sources online without delay.
