Hi,
my daughter is getting married and I obviously need to prepare a father of the bride speech.
But I don't simply want to thank the guests for coming to my daughters wedding, I would also like to say a bit about my daughter. Of how proud I am of her, as well as her steps into marriage.
Is there like a Father of the Bride speech template I could use and elaborate upon and simply fill in the blanks? |

Hi Paul,
there are always a few obligations in a father of the bride speech.
1. To thank everyone for coming on this special day. 2. Tell everyone a few special, possibly secret things about your daughter. 3. Mention a few of the former disaster teenage boyfirends but say how happy you were that your daughter met her husband. 4. What you like about your daughter's new husband. 5. Jokily warning him about what will happen if..... 6. Welcome your son in law into the family. 7. Ask everyone to raise their glasses to the new couple to wish them every future success and happiness.
This is the basic outline of most every father of the bride speech.

It's always quite typical isn't it that at the end the father of the bride says something like;
"Ladies and gentlemen, would you please join me for a toast. Ladies and Gentlemen, family and friends, would you all join me in wishing my daughter and her husband all the best in their marriage, and may we hope that the love and happiness they share now today will follow them for the rest of their lives. The Bride and Groom."
At least at every wedding i've been to, they seem to end with this type of father of the bride speech.
