How about underplaying difficulties, disappointments and failures? Instead make sure that you emphasize the experience, lessons and solutions gained.
Never talk about things as "problems"...problems are always best referred to as "challenges". |

How did I forget that one?
Absolutely SOP, never say problem. Thats such a negative word, and brings everything down. Challenges yes! You can discuss your "challenges" and how you solved them. Needless to say the "challenges" that you didn't solve should probably never be discussed or mentioned in the first place. Jonathan Stock, Presentation Consultant |

Nah! I'm not gonna tell them all about my problems...after all the interview is only for about an hour!
I was thinking more about my exit line.... SOP |

End the interview with a smile SOP, a firm handshake and your prepared goodbye.
Be sure to thank the interviewer for their time (essential), and offer any additional information they may need to make a decision. Jonathan Stock, Presentation Consultant |

You should have painted a picture of your success SOP. Of your relevance to the position, and your willingness to learn, grow and become a valued asset and addition to the company.
Before you leave the job interview, I agree that you need some sort of "remember me" line. It's not a comedy routine, or gimmick. I would instead rather maybe think of something to have as an ace. For example, if you have found a good tone with the interviewer before leaving and you feel comfortable that the interviewer has "opened" up a little, and also expressed something of common interest, for example football, that you might mention for example you are going to see the game this weekend? Will he also be going? etc., Something that also allows the interviewer to see the "human" side of you. Remember most companies and organizations also have social activites and events, and it's important that you can contribute to these as well. Tony, Presentation Consultant, 123ppt.com |
